Wheel-to-Table


One of my favourite deserts is apple strudel and home made vanilla custard. I love to eat it off an open bowl, creamy in colour with brown speckles that look like the cinnamon in the apple. There is a sparkle in the blue dribble of glaze at the base of the bowl .You don't see the sparkle until the last bit of custard is licked away.

In this class you will design and make pottery to serve your favourite food in. We will think about food, form and colour. You will learn how to make pots on the wheel and how to hand build larger plates, bowls and serving platters. We will talk about glazes and how to add those little finishing touches that make your pottery unique.
