Wheel Throwing Beginner Level 2

Monday Nights: 20th July - 10th August 6:30pm - 9pm

8 weeks $390

Tutor: Nadine Spalter

If you’ve completed a Beginners Wheel throwing course and you would like to continue developing your throwing skills then this class is for you! This is an excellent follow-on course from the absolute beginners courses and a great way to reinforce your skills. Please only enrol if you have completed a Beginners throwing course - this class is not suitable for complete beginners.

Clay and tools need to be purchased for this class, and firings are paid separately.

Intermediate Throwing on the Wheel

Tuesday Evenings: 21st July - 8th September 6:30pm - 9pm

8 weeks $390

Tutor: Eloise Worrall-Bader

This 8 week intermediate throwing class is open to students who have previously attended classes with Eloise. Eloise will help you to advance your throwing technique with new moves, shapes and exploring how to throw larger with a focus on centering larger amounts of clay.

4 Week Beginner Wheel Throwing

Wednesday Evenings: 28th July - 18th August 6:30pm - 9pm

4 weeks $195

Have a go on the wheel with this 4 week wheel basics course. Learn the basic techniques to throw cylinders, cups and bowls. This 4 week course is perfect if you just want to have-a-go and see if this is for you. By week 3 you will choose 4 favourite items to be bisc fired, and in week 4 you will learn how to apply glaze to finish your pieces, ready for their final glaze firing. Pieces can be collected a week after the last class.

Clay is included in the course cost, and tools are available to use.

Form and Function on the Wheel

Thursday Mornings: 11th June - 2nd July 10am - 1pm

6 weeks $290

Tutor Rachel Carter

Potter Rachel Carter creates functional porcelain domestic ware on the wheel. This is the perfect class for more experienced throwers,

In this throwing class Rachel will focus on design, with an emphasis on bowls and plates. Rachel will also get you to start thinking about how your pieces work together and how to make a functional piece also look good.  The goal of this 6 week class will be to come away with a set where the pieces are tied together with their design language.

Clay will need to be purchased for this class, and you will need to bring your own tools. Firings are paid separately.

4 Week Wheel Basics

Thursday evenings: 23rd June - 13th July 6:30pm - 9pm

4 weeks $195

Tutor: Catherine Spence

Learn the basic techniques to throw cylinders, cups and bowls in this 4 week beginners class. A relaxed and casual class, and the perfect introduction to The Clay Centre. By week 3 you will choose 4 favourite items to be bisc fired, and in week 4 you will learn how to apply glaze to finish your pieces, ready for their final glaze firing. Pieces can be collected 2 weeks after the last class.

Clay and tools are included in the course cost.
