HOW TO BOOK CLASSES
Our classes are released at the start of each term.
First we put them up on our booking website for preview along with a release date.
We do this so that you can decide on the class that works for you with out worrying that you are not going to have enough time to book.
Then on the specified date, using the same link they will be bookable.

If you can’t book into your class first please check what date the listings are bookable (see below this section) if you are booking on or after this date this probably means they are sold out.

We are really sorry you cant get into the class you want! Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter as that is where you will hear about new classes first

Finished work will be available to collect 3 - 4 weeks after your course.
We will send you an email when your work is ready to be picked up.All completed work must be collected from The Clay Centre within 6 weeks of receiving your collection email.
Work will not be stored after 6 weeks due to space constraints.

Freestyle hand-building - with Cat: Tuesday Mornings
Tuesday Mornings, 10:00am - 12:30pm
3rd February - 3rd March 20265 Weeks
Suitable for all levels
Do you have a ceramic project or is there something you've always wanted to build? Make it real! From coffee cups to clay origami pieces and everything in between, develop your skills and be inspired by others in this 5-week Hand Building class.
You are encouraged to bring your own ideas, and Cat will help you bring them to life. The options are endless, just bring your willingness to learn and have fun!
Clay and tools will need to be purchased for this class, and firings are paid separately.

Clay Containers with Estefany - Wednesday Evenings
Wednesday Evenings, 6:30pm - 9pm
4th February - 4th March 2026
5 weeks
Suitable for all levels
In this 5-week hand building class we'll focus on making functional objects that will elevate your bathroom, bedroom, office and kitchen!
You will explore techniques such as slab building, coiling and surface decoration. Learning to use all these techniques will help build your familiarity and skills in working with clay as a material, and give you the expertise you need to create beautiful ceramics of your own.
Each week there will be a demonstration with a focus on building your skills. As we move through the course, you will be encouraged to bring your own ideas, and Estefany will help you bring these to life!

Create Your Own Diorama or Miniature Scene - Thursday Evenings
Thursday Evenings 6:30 - 9pm
5th February - 5th March
Suitable for all levels
Build your own tiny world in clay!
In this 5-week hand building course, you’ll design and create a detailed diorama or miniature scene. Anything goes! From buildings or landscapes to character scenes or memories of places, create what's in your heart. Learn sculpting, slab construction, carving, and surface decoration while bringing your imaginative scene to life. Perfect for beginners and creatives who love small-scale storytelling.
You are encouraged to bring your own ideas, and Cat will help you bring them to life. The options are endless, just bring your willingness to learn and have fun!

Sculpture Class with Helen Perrett - Wednesday Mornings
Wednesday Mornings 10:00am - 12:30pm
25th February - 1st of April
Suitable for all levels
In this class you will have demonstrations by the tutor and learn the basic techniques of hand building sculptural pieces. Planning and research will be discussed and surface treatments such as applying texture and colour will be explored.
You can do a class project with the tutor demonstrating or work on an individual project with support and encouragement.

Drawing on Clay with Susan St Lawrence - Thursday Mornings
Thursday Mornings 10:00am - 12:30pm
12th February - 19th March
Suitable for all levels
Using tiles as a canvas, you'll trial a variety of methods, materials and techniques to find the best way for you to create the result you want.
In this 6 week class you will learn how to create a set of tiles and how to reduce the possibility of warping as they dry
You will investigate different clay illustration methods and techniques that have worked for others through the ages.
Susan St Lawrence has a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Diploma of Ceramic Arts.
Clay and tools will need to be purchased for this class, and glazing/firings will be done by our technicians and will need to be paid on a weigh and pay basis

Expand your Ceramic Practise with Richard Penn
Monday Evenings 6:30 - 9pm

Ready to expand your ceramic practice?
This course encourages you to learn new skills, explore influential ceramic artists, and work in fresh, unexpected ways. With an emphasis on process over outcome, you’ll be supported to experiment, take risks, and embrace the creative value of failure.We’ll look at videos and interviews of contemporary artists, and you can either follow one artist’s approach as inspiration for a project or take part in a series of exercises drawn from multiple practices.
If you’re curious, open to discovery, and eager to push your work further, this course is for you.
