  • Plate Boot-Camp with Jenny - Tuesday AM

    Must have completed Level 2
    Tuesday mornings - 10:00am - 12:30pm
    2nd and 9th of April

    A 2-week class to help you improve your plate throwing and trimming technique

    The focus of the first night of this 2-week course will be on how to throw different types of plates, centering and throwing techniques, and how to set yourself up for success in making plates with intentionality.

    On the second night of the course we will look at trimming techniques with a focus on foot rings.

  • Specialist class with Tai - Tuesday PM

    Must have completed LEVEL 3 within the last 6-months

    Tuesday evenings - 6:30 - 9:00pm
    2nd and 9th of April

    A 2-week class showing you how to centre and throw with larger amounts of clay, as well as techniques such as throwing off the hump and two part throwing.

    Not suitable for beginners

  • Tea Infuser/Coffee dripper - Wednesday PM

    Must have completed Level 2

    Wednesday evenings - 6:30 - 9:00pm
    27th of March - 10th of April

    This course is designed for individuals who have previously completed a Level 2 wheel course at TCC as this builds upon foundational skills and techniques.
    Over the span of three weeks, you'll create your own personalised tea infuser or coffee dripper. Each session will focus on a specific aspect of the making process, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience.

  • Bowl Boot-Camp with Sofia - Thursday PM

    Must have completed Level 1
    Thursday evenings - 6:30 - 9:00pm
    28th of March - 11th of April

    A 3-week class to help you improve your bowl throwing, trimming and glazing techniques.

    The focus of the first night of this 3-week course will be on how to throw different types of bowls, centering and throwing techniques, and how to set yourself up for success in making bowls with intentionality. We can also look at any issues you might have with uneven wall thickness or unlevel rims.

    On the second night of the course we will look at trimming techniques with a focus on foot rings.

    And in the last night you will have the opportunity to glaze everything you have made.

  • Cylinder Boot-Camp with Tai - Monday PM

    Must have completed Level 1
    Monday evening - 6:30 - 9:00pm
    8th of April

    A one-off class to help you improve your cylinder throwing technique

    "A well-made cylinder is the basis of a whole family of pottery forms and arguably the most important shape to learn to make. As musicians practise their scales, so potters make cylinders.”

    The spotlight of this class will be on how to get more height from your cylinders, centering and throwing techniques, and how to make your pulls more efficient. We can also look at any issues you might have with uneven wall thickness or unlevel rims.

    Clay and tools need to be purchased for this course. Glazing and firing is not offered.
